FGC enthusiasts, what would you say is best entry point into the genre right now?

As an outsider looking in, I've been very curious about fighting games. Playing at a competent level has always seemed impenetrable to me even with a long history of playing competitive games in other genres closest thing being melee. All the deeper mechanics of this genre seem so foreign to me but I'm absolutely fascinated with the genre and would love to learn more.So here are my questions:What would you say is currently the best entry point game into the genre?(Something easy to pick up and learn the basics but it gets deep when you get further into the competitive aspect)Why do you feel like this the current best entry point and what is special about this game? What keeps you playing long term?Is this game big in the local tournament scene by you?Is the online play good? (Netcode, Rankings, Fun to play, Etc.)What are the best online resources to learn about it? (Websites, Youtube, Etc.)Where do people typically go to discuss this game? (Boards, Subs, Etc.)Thank you for your time. via /r/Games http://ift.tt/2lrMlCC
