What is a critically panned, low quality, or otherwise 'bad' game that you absolutely love, and why?

I thought this would be an interesting question to ask. I think everyone has at least one game that everyone else seems to hate or not even acknowledge the existence of that you just absolutely love. For me it has to be the Deadliest Warrior series of games (The first two. I recently found out there was a third. It is absolutely dreadful). These were budget fighting titles available on Xbox 360 and PS3 based on the extremely cheesy television series of the same name. The premise of both the show and the game is to pit two historical combatants (like a knight versus a pirate for example) against each other to determine who is deadliest. While the games were generally considered kinda mediocre by review standards, I felt there was a depth and fun factor there that really gripped me. While they have all the standard weapon based fighting game tropes present, something it did differently was to introduce body damage mechanics.Basically, if you were struck in the legs, your character could suffer a broken bone and have to limp around. This would also effect your available move pool, with any leaping or otherwise fancy footwork now out of your capacity to perform. By the same token, you could suffer a broken arm (and lose a held shield, or the ability to use 2 handed weapons), or suffer a completely severed arm that would cause you to bleed to death if you didn't end the fight quickly.Of course you could also just have your head cut off, with hopefully obvious fight ending consequences. With warriors having ranged weapons at their disposal as well, the hilarity of pile driving a javelin through your opponents skull was always a possibility too.The most fun for me though was Survival Slice mode, an endless fight to kill off as many foes 1 at a time before you ultimately die, but with 'Slice' mode enabled. This means any connecting strike at all will sever the limb/neck/your entire torso in half as well. I still load this up from time to time, just to see if I can top my record (25).Deadliest Warriors: Legends (the second game) is basically just a slightly upgraded version of the first, and instead of your characters being generic historical warriors, they're actual historical characters like Sun Tzu or William Wallace. It's fun, and some of the upgraded features are nice, but I still prefer the first game.So how about you? What's your guilty garbage gaming pleasure? via /r/Games https://ift.tt/2vmxGxz
