MMORPG Archeage set to re-release under new publisher with a buy to play model as Archeage: Unchained.

Archeage is a free to play MMORPG that was originally published by Trion Games in 2014 but lost traction fast as the publisher filled the game with pay to win micro-transactions. In 2018 publisher Trion Games was dissolved and publisher Gamigo took reins over the game. Gamigo is now launching a brand new version of the game titled Archeage: Unchained that will coincide with the release of the games major 6.0 update which includes a complete graphical overhaul. Publisher Gamigo is promising absolutely no pay to win micro-transactions opting for the popular battle pass method of ongoing monetization which will feature cosmetic, character bound items only. The MMO overhaul is set to release on October 15th through steam and their own Glyph launcher.Archeage: Unchained FAQ: https://ift.tt/2oJRhrK Unchained cinematic trailer: https://youtu.be/jpamb_fqiywPersonal anecdote: I was a big fan of the game back in the day but quit when the pay to win stuff came in, I'm looking forward to this new release and I'm curious if the new publisher sticks to their word with their monetization. via /r/Games https://ift.tt/2nh5yf4
