Some more information/clarification on the Playstation 5 Controller.

Nearly a month back Wired published an article about the second demonstration they received from Sony for the PS5 and in their article they focused a lot on the controller.Out of curiosity, I checked the Twitter account of the journalist who wrote the article and in his replies to other people's questions about the article he provides some clarification or new information. Now for some of you (or maybe most of you) this information would seem fairly obvious but going back and reading the thread I noticed that a lot of people still had questions or doubts so that's why I'm making this post. So here is the information/clarification about the Playstation 5 Controller:Like the DualShock 4, the PS5 controller will have a light bar.Like the DualShock 4, the PS5 controller will have a TouchPad.The adaptive triggers/resistance mechanic of the triggers is achieved by using dedicated motors near the housing of the triggers. The triggers don't 'lock in place' i.e they don't have 'fixed' or 'hard locked' variable arc lengths or variable distance of travel. Its just that the resistance of the trigger can be programed. So it can become much tougher or much easier to press a trigger depending on what the developer programs it to do. I imagine that this does mean that you can program the trigger to be so resistant that you can't push it beyond a certain point, thus achieving the variable arc length. via /r/Games https://ift.tt/2NAFqFd
