Outer Space Shack - a realistic space base building game starting in the 1960s on the Moon

I am glad to present here Outer Space Shack. The game is born out of my frustration of space base building games being set too far in the future, whereas I find the current era much more fascinating and immersive. Why don't you start by watching the trailer on the Indiegogo site? Also, if you want to keep in touch, you may subscribe to the newsletter or wishlist the game on Steam. You may also enjoy this recent sample of the latest graphics. The first outposts in spaceIn Outer Space Shack, you manage a space program, and start building a permanent space base on the Moon in the 1960s. Your first space base will not have grandiose glass domes, but will look like a small submarine interior, buried in regolith (Moon sand) to protect from radiations. Gradually, it may grow into a small community with a social life, permanent inhabitants and visitors. Later in the game, you may also build an outpost on Mars, another environment with very different challenges.A realistic simulationOuter Space Shack objective is to simulate realistically all major aspects of space technology, human and environment constraints, so you have the same challenges as a real space mission. Solar panel yields are realistic (and not a lot), The Moon night is actually 14 Earth day (very very long), batteries are very heavy, astronauts need distraction and exercise.A laidback play styleI hope you can enjoy the game after a hard day at work. So I am designing it so that grind is limited (you do not need to place electrical cable...), and there are, most of the time, makeshift solutions to your problems (you can basically fix everything with a hammer and duct tape, even if the repair does not last long). Many extensions plannedRight now, I am focusing on delivering a limited game scope: the Moon and Mars from the 1960s to the 2020s, but I have prepared the game to be extensible. I have many ideas from exotic locations (Venus cloud city, orbital base, Ceres, Titan) to additional game mechanism (asteroid mining, interplanetary commerce, underground bases, allowing astronauts to have children in space). via /r/Games https://ift.tt/PALRsZE
